Hatchet 3 (2013) is the third film of horror of the Hatchet Series. It chronicles Victor Crowley's continuing adventures and his rampage through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder portrays Victor Crowley while Brian Quinn plays Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanbilt plays Misty.
The film's special effects are the film's biggest strengths. Hatchet 3 is a horror movie that uses CG effects less than many others. Hatchet 3 has a lot of practical makeup effects and sets, which results in some really horrific scenes throughout the film.
The cast gives a strong performance and Kane Hodder standing out as the most (blog post) terrifying villain. The dialogue feels like a 1980s slasher film. It's funny and funny enough. Additionally, there are some really funny moments that provide a sense of some humor in the midst of the terrifying action.
Due to the small budget (1 million dollars), many locations were duplicates from earlier films. The boat house in Hatchet 2 was used only once, and the remainder of the footage seems like it was reused from previous films. It can feel almost too familiar especially for people who've already watched Hatchet or Hatchet 2
Overall, Hatchet 3 was an enjoyable show. I liked the gory thrills it offered as well as the engaging performances by its cast members.
